Congrats to "Shotgun Tom" Kelly, the 2007 R&R Industry Achievement Awards Classic Hits Personality/Show of the Year

KRTH-FM (K-Earth)/Los Angeles afternoon personality (4-8pm) "Shotgun
Tom" Kelly has been awarded with the 2007 Radio and Records Industry
Achievement Awards Classic Hits Personality/Show of the Year. "Shotgun
Tom" is celebrating his tenth year with the CBS Radio outlet. He was
also a top-rated personality on the legendary San Diego CHR KCBQ in
the 1970's.

"I'm just overwhelmed and so honored to be singled out by my peers,"
said Kelly. "I am so grateful to be doing this everyday for the people
of Southern California."

PD Jhani Kaye congratulated Kelly, noting, "K-Earth 101 has been the
home of many legendary personalities, including Robert W. Morgan and
the Real Don Steele. "Shotgun Tom" moves up into the ranks of these
radio legends with this award, and we are so proud to have perform in
afternoons on K-Earth 101."

WLDE/Fort Wayne

The WLDE/Fort Wayne air-staff, GM, SM and OM/PD recently joined Mike McVay for a Pre-Rating dinner. Pictured to the right of the picture is Operations Manager Lee Tobin. It may not look like it, but Mike's hand is a good 1.5 feet in front of Lee.

The WLDE/Fort Wayne listener showed up at the station meeting. Her name is Kathy and she listens to WLDE for 135 quarter hours per/week. She's a Virgo and likes long walks in the woods, knitting, paint ball and shiatsu massages ... all while listening to WLDE Radio.

The WAJI/Fort Wayne air-staff celebrated their recent rating success with a bowling party.

Jan Dean passed away on July 25th

The entire team at McVay Media mourns the loss of radio's Jan Dean. Jan passed away on July 25th. She is the former PD of KAYI and KMYZ in Tulsa. Many in Tulsa grew up listening to Jan host "Bed Check" on CHR formatted KAYI.
