Cleveland Indians
The visitors broadcast booth at the Cleveland Indians Stadium is named after the late Ernie Harwell. He is a hall of fame broadcasters who anchored baseball radio broadcasts for 55 years with 42 of them for the Detroit Tigers. This sign is hidden away from the eyes of the public, but underscores the accomplishments of Harwell, as his contemporaries chose to honor him with this plaque.
Jim Lanigan and Mike McVay pose in the Visitors Press Box during a recent game between The Cleveland Indians and The Seattle Mariners. The two were visiting successful writer/director, personality and screenplay Ken Levine. Levine is best known as part of the Emmy winning team Ken Levine & David Issacs. The two wrote M*A*S*H, Cheers, Fraiser and episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond, The Simpons, plus more. He is currently working as the color analyst for the Seattle Mariners. His sportscasting experience includes stints in the minor leagues, the Baltimore Orioles, The San Diego Padres, The Seattle Mariners and pre-post game with the Los Angeles Dodgers. All of that has nothing to do with Mike McVay and Jim Lanigan being at the game ... but it makes us sound more important.Tuesday, May 03, 2011

HARDWARE HOMAGE!
There may be many too young to know what a tape recorder was. But, while visiting NPR affiliated client KUOW/Seattle, McVay Media's Holland Cooke got all wistful in the break room where staffers munch-their-lunch. The tables are reel-to-reel machines, on respectfully-refurbished original equipment caster wheels, retrofitted with Plexiglas table tops. And, of course, ornamental splicing block, razor blade, grease pencil, and paper leader. If you don't understand that last sentence, it's past your bed time. You'd HAVE to be "Radio's Best Friend"
Mike McVay and actor Ron Jeremy
